Innocent

How do you feel to see the picture above? What is your feeling? Happy?? Sad? Angry? When I first saw this picture, my heart burned and my eyes get soaked. And the questions start spinning on my head is WHY they did that ? WHERE they put their 'aql which differentiate man and animal? HOW dare they throw their own baby ??

Emotionally, i was angry. They did prohibited actions, they left their own child, and they might killed innocent person.. And the bad thing is they proud with their actions and never feel guilty.. A newborn-child is the purest person ever.. Never make mistakes but punished by their parent's mistakes. May Allah promise the heaven to all those innocent baby, and give the exact punishment to the unhearted people or give them a door of 'taubat' before the punishment.

A sharing article from a blog (HERE). Lets read..

CHILD is a priceless gift from Allah SWT. However, baby abandonment is a social crisis and has a chronic increase as many cases are occurring in Malaysian society. The baby abandonment refers to discarding or leaving alone, for an extended period of time, a child younger than 12 months of age in a public or private setting with the intent to dispose of the child. Based on Bukit Aman Police Headquarters statistics found a total of 580 babies were found abandoned between year 2000 to 2006. This number of cases increase every year where as much as 65 baby abandonment cases has increased to 83 cases in the year 2006. In the first 5 months, almost everyday there are reports on abandoned baby cases. You read it on the front page of the newspaper or see it on the nightly news...a newborn baby found in a back alley. This scenario had been more serious from day to day although there are a lot about this in the mass media.

Mostly, among teenagers always seen to be involved in this situation. Teenage parents give birth in a motel room and leave the child for dead in a dumpster. A girl gives birth in a school bathroom at night. throws the baby into the garbage or in the toilet. These stories relate to one of the most frightening realities of our culture today: some children are viewed as problems to be thrown away rather than gifts to be treasured. More recently, the tragedy of Baby Abandonment has begun to be addressed by state legislatures throughout the nation. For example, a number of states have passed laws to provide funding, care, and services for abandoned children. These legislative actions have also established 'safe houses' - public centers such as fire stations, police stations, and other public areas where women can bring unwanted children rather then leave them in trash receptacles. The hope is that, by offering an alternative to abandonment, women might leave their children with people who can help the baby. Surprisingly, these cases have got a lot of attention from the community. So, what are the best opinions and ways that should be taken to prevent this scenario from spreading?

Then, what are you thinking? How to stop all of these to be happened in the future? Just one advice to myself and others.. Fear ALLAH ! So you will never do bad things..

Wallahua'alam..

**I really hope that a friend of mine will be given a child after more than 5 years marriage, so, for those who was given a child but throw them away, please consider other's feeling.. TQ

Teach~!!

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

As i planned in the beginning of this week, I wanna to talk about one of the important person in our life other than our parents is a teacher, or some of us will call them Ustaz, Ustazah, Cikgu, Guru, Mu'allim, Sir, Madam, Miss, and so on. We celebrated the Teacher's Day in Malaysia on 16th May, last Sunday, but the celebration including the appreciation to the person called as a teacher or an educator cannot be only in one day, but should be appreciated in the whole day of our life..

Teacher. This is the simplest name of a person who teach something even though their profession or occupation is not a real teacher. Some teacher also just bring out the name of 'teacher' in their profession but they cannot bear the responsibility as a teacher. However, it is still the teacher who carries the highest position in term of education, because "A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others."

In my life, my first teacher is my mother. Although she didn't have any degree, any M.A or phD, but she is my first teacher from the beginning i opened my eyes. She taught me almost everything to know what life it is. How to walk, talk, eat, drink, sleep and so on.. Her teaching is uncountable and cannot be compared to any other teachers, and she will be my teacher until the end of my breath. In my life as well, the adorable and respected teacher is my own father. He was a teacher and still teach other people and his own children, and i learned a lots from him. Whoever asked me who is my favourite teacher, the answer would be my dad~! May Allah bless both of my mother and my father, the best teacher in this world.. Ameen..

While other teachers was unforgettable (even though i'm easily forget the name of a person), but their knowledge and teaching really benefit throughout in my life. Their names are too many to be mentioned here. Then, a sincere thanking wish to:

All teachers in Taski Al-Ummah 2, Kg Melayu, Johor Bahru
All teachers in Sekolah Rendah Islam Johor Bahru
All teachers in Sekolah Menengah Agama An-Nur, Benut, Pontian, Johor
All teachers in Sekolah Menengah Agama Kerajaan Johor, Kluang
All lecturers in Matriculation Centre IIUM, Petaling Jaya
All lecturers in Internationa Islam University Malaysia, Gombak
All teachers (colleagues) in SKTP, Johor Bahru

Last but not least..
All people who teach and give me knowledge directly or indirectly even a WORD..

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "Ballighu 'Anni walau Ayah.." (بلغوا عني ولو آية) This hadith is Sahih, narrated by Bukhari from Ibn 'Amr (Hadith no. 2838)

Deliver from me even a sentence.. What to be delivered? Of course it is a knowledge, an advice, an information, a good word, and whatever which is not against the teaching of Islam.. This is one of the best and simple advices was given by our beloved Prophet. It is also can be understood that we have to share whatever we have in term of knowledge. Yes sharing is caring, but sharing the knowledge will be rewarded even after our death.. This hadith really motivates myself..

That is the role of teacher in delivering the goodness in term of words and deeds. However, there should be a reminder for those who called themselves a teacher. As i quoted from one website, Abul-Aswed ad-Dueli composed a couple of verses in which he said:

O, man that teaches others!
You should have taught yourself first

Warn not against a manner while you are doing

This is the great shame on you
Begin with yourself in interdicting sins

If you do it then you are truly wise

Only then, your admonition will be acceded

And your words will be ensued and teaching be useful.

Self-disrespect and immorality of some teachers have been the cause that resulted in the present youth’s irregularity and deviation from the social traditions.

I myself had my own experience as a teacher. Honestly, it is not a simple and easy job. It needs courage and sincerity to teach others. Teaching others can be easy if you ikhlas without hoping that the students will appreciate and respect you or even forget you after this. Although I'm not holding any position as a teacher in a school or whatever, I wanna teach others and share the knowledge I had even it's too little compared to other educated people. Agreed with Confucius, he said: "If you think in terms of a year, plan a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people." It is also true when Albert Einstein said: "Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as valuable gift and not as a hard duty."

Do you wanna know something.. Not only people can teach all of us. It can be experiences of other, or a movie or a song, even a book or a writing can teach us a lot of things. Listen to this quote really make me smile, Charles W. Eliot said: "Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers." It is sooooo true...^____^

I dont wanna write any more, just wanna focus on writing the Chapter Two.. If not, my new teacher (mza) will punish me soon... (just kidding). Wallahu'alam...

Worth Weekend

15 May 2010 (Saturday)
Writing Workshop: The Power of Ink

This workshop was organized by Intellectual Youth Club, IIUM. I saw a name that i recognized at the poster on the board. Oh! Sis Zabrina Bakar is the speaker~! I wanna go..! That was my first impression. I met her for the first time after read her three books at IIUM Library last year, and i still remembered that time I asked her how to learn writing with her, but she answered that she is a strict teacher. Its ok. Then this is the time i'm waiting for and i should not miss this opportunity. So, I registered my name alone, but Alhamdulillah Aidah wanna join us and we went together on Saturday at Mini Audi.

There were three sessions. First Session: How to motivate people through writing. Second Session: From Blink-Blink to Yey-Done. Third Session: Practice Time. She explained in her interesting way, shared her writing experiences, and urged us to start writing. It will be too long if i wanna share here all of our lessons during the workshop, so I just wanna share four steps of writing. But these steps are only a suggestion from her, it is not fixed, its depend on the author. Different authors might have different steps.. The steps are:
  1. Initiate the story. You have to know who are in the story, where are we in the story, what time is it in my story, what is happening in the story.
  2. Set the stage. You have to know what do you see, hear, smell, taste, feel and so on. Explain creatively.
  3. Leading to the turning point. Tell details about the problem you are trying to tackle, what are the problems that need to be solved, who do they meet to help or hinder them, what are their struggles.
  4. Answering the questions. Wrapping your story in the end and offer/provide your readers with conclusion.
Anyway, there are a lot to be shared here..but maybe next time. Thank You to Sis Zabrina for sharing her idea and experiences. I hope Allah bless her deeds and efforts to write motivational faith stories special for Muslim souls! Lastly, F. Scott Fitzgerald said: "You dont write because you want to say something, you write because you've got something to say". Her website can be visited HERE.

16th Mei 2010 (Sunday)
Program Santai Jasa, Sg. Pisang, Gombak

Actually this programme began on the night of Saturday, but it was just a group binding and ice breaking to know each better among Jasaians and Alumni Jasa. The waiting events was on Sunday which will be held at Sg Pisang, Gombak. We were divided into four groups according to the name of Orang Asli's ethnic group. My group's name is Temuan and our members are Azim, Aisyah, Umi, Hawa and me myself.

The first activity was Explorace in the river. It has been for a long time for not participate such of this game and it was really fun. We had to do some tasks in each check point related to Orang Asli. My group won for the second winner, i'm happy with that~! Then, we continued next programme which was conducted by myself in Taaruf Session with all who came to this programme. I do hope that we will not forget each other after that activity. After that, we continued with Sharing Moment conducted by Haidir and Ustad Mid where we shared together of our sweet and sour memories in JASA. In my deep heart, i miss so much all those memories... We ended our activities after took some refreshment (lunch) and playing river water.

During our journey back to IIUM, we paid a visit to Kg Orang Asli Bukit Kala for a while to introduce to some our junior members about this village. This aboriginal village is the nearest place who you can find Orang Asli in Gombak. We didn't take for a long time there. Then, we went back to IIUM. Honestly, i was so happy.. This programme was totally happening. The ukhuwah in this family still be the same. Adik-adik were so sporting and very helpful, really hope that there will be no gap among Aumni and the new members. Haidir, Ust Mid, Kucai, Zami, Nana, Affern, and Dila, thank you so much for the friendship that we had until today. For our members who cannot attend, it's ok, this programme is just a beginning, we will plan next happening programme again in the future, insyaAllah. I do hope that all of us can gather like our previous time. Together we gather, together we stay forever~!!

**The story of Teacher's Day (16 May) will be on next entry.. Oh ya! Reminder to myself, do not just write a new entry in blog, but please finish the chapter two by the end of this month. Thank you!

Fredrik Haren @ Kinokuniya

Alhamdulillah, a gratitude to Allah for the opportunity to participate a talk delivered by an International Author, Fredrik Haren at Kinokuniya, KLCC on 14th May 2010. Thanks to BACA@LRT for promoting this event for the programme in the month of May (i'm still upset for not joining April's event) and this is the third time of participating the event to promote that reading is a cool activity.. Thanks too to my friend, mza for accompanying me to go to this event. :)

The session began at 7pm and we came 10 minutes late. The chairs were full taken and we have to stand along this session. But it's ok as long as we can heard the sharing inspirational talk by this author. Honestly, i didn't know who he is. I heard for the first of his name from Baca@lrt page in facebook. Then, i think i have to know a little bit info about him first before i listen to his talk. I opened his website (click HERE) and i found his book exists in IIUM Library. I just read his book in general and i'm happy that i knew some info about him.

Fredrik Haren is a creative person. That was my first impression. He did what other people will not think about it. He tried to do something different. He used a different cover book which is look like The Bible as his book to become the bestseller book. I like the story where he put his Idea Book in Hotel's room. It's funny but it was really happened. And I think that he is the only author who dare to take a risk to put his book for free in any hotel's room, but after that his book was sold one book per day (100 books for 100 days). Awesome ! As I understood in the world of writer (even though i am not a writer) that writing will only take 10 percent of your success, the rest 90 percent is the power of marketing your book. That will make the author become a businessman at the same time..

Idea is the most important thing. You can't write without having an idea. The idea will come from Knowledge and Information. He actually want the reader to have the idea after he gave his idea. That's why he wrote at the back cover of his book '150 pages about ideas, 150 pages for your own ideas. One idea book'. He simply wrote short stories or quotations in his book, then leave the blank empty pages special for readers to make them express their idea. That was an excellent idea !

One more thing that I can share here from his talk is about Copyright. It can be copy right or copying right. As he mentioned, Chinese people are the one who best at the term of copying. They can easily copy from something to create a new thing, and they became the best inventor by copying from other inventions. But don't look at them, just look at ourselves. Are we never copy? Yes or No is your answer. There is no accurate answer, it's up to you. But what's wrong if we copy the right thing. Then we create the better thing than the thing that we copied. Just ask yourself, i will ask myself too.. :)

Anyway, i got something from attending his talk. He had his different creative way to write. Why not we can be different and creative as well ? Be different. And please appreciate our differences..

Realiti 5 Menara

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Bismillahirahmanirrahim..

Yesterday was 12th May, today is 13th May, and tomorrow will be 14th May. Alhamdulillah i'm still alive for yesterday and today, but i don't know about tomorrow. Am i prepared enough for the death and the special meeting with God ? the answer will be remained only in my brain..

As i mentioned earlier, today is 13th May. If you remind what happened in the past historical event of 13th May in Malaysia, it was unforgettable event in Malaysian history. It should not be repeated again especially during the slogan 1Malaysia was widely spread in this beloved country. That incident is a yesterday's story, what about our next story for tomorrow and the future ? We don't know but HE knows, and we still hope that the tomorrow's story will be better than yesterday's..

Actually i don't have more idea to talk about it here, then i wanna share a poem taken from 'Life is an Open Secret' entitled Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Please enjoy the poem and i'm sure that you will get something from this poem..
Today is the tomorrow I worried about yesterday
and today was such a lovely day,
that I wondered why I worried about today yesterday,
so today I am not going to worry about tomorrow,
there may not be a tomorrow anyway..

So today I am going to live as if there is no tomorrow,
and I am going to forget about yesterday.
Today is the tomorrow I planned for yesterday,
and nearly all my plans for today did not plan out the way I thought they would yesterday.

So today I am forgetting about tomorrow and I will plan for today,
but not too strenuously,
today I will stop to smell a rose,
I will tell a loved one how much I love them,
I will stop planning for tomorrow and plan to make today the best day of my life.

Today is the tomorrow I was afraid of yesterday,
and today was nothing to be afraid of,
so today I will banish fear of the unknown,
I will embrace the unknown as a learning experience full of exciting opportunities,
Today, unlike yesterday, I will not fear tomorrow,
Today is the tomorrow I dreamed about yesterday,
and some of the dreams I dreamt about yesterday came true today,
so today I am going to continue dreaming about tomorrow,
and perhaps more of the dreams I dream today will come true tomorrow.
Today is the tomorrow I set goals for yesterday,
and I reached some of those goals today.

So today I am going to set slightly higher goals for today and tomorrow,
and if tomorrow turns out to be like today,
I will certainly reach all of my goals one day !!
InsyaAllah.. Certainly, all dreams will be achieved one day. If you still not decided yet about your goals and dreams, please do so. You are still not too late because you still have time. As George Eliot once said: "It is never too late to become what you might have been".

Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is mystery,
Today is a gift !

Perkahwinan 42 Tahun

9 Mei 1968

Sambutan sangat sederhana.

Semalam saya baru sahaja menghadiri majlis perkahwinan seorang teman.

May Day!

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..

While waiting Azan Subuh, i wanna spend less than 20 minutes to write this entry for this week. The month of May actually came too fast, and i'm scared that i have to fulfill the target planned for the months after finished all subjects of my coursework study. 1 Month 1 Chapter. That is the target to be achieved for next 5 months begin with May. Can i do well for this target? We'll see in this month first....

The picture above shows some books that i want to read for this May.

I started read the first book: 'The Duties of Brotherhood in Islam' written by al-Ghazali but translated to English by Muhtar Holland. The concept of brotherhood introduced by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the beautiful concept in Islam and should be understood by everyone including non-Muslim to avoid chaos in the society.

Second book is 'Islam and the Integration of Society' written by W. Montgomery Watt. This book will help a lot for writing Chapter Two. I have to select only some topics to be read because it is a little bit thick book. This book also is the only book tells about the integration of society in Islam.

Third book is 'Madinan Society at the time of the Prophet' written by Akram Diya Umari. This book is the main source for my thesis. But i really need strength to read this kind of book.. Reading this book is not the most important one but the understanding from reading is much more important!

Fourth book is '5 Menara' by Ahmad Fuadi, borrowed from Zaki's friend. I already booked one copy from my friend to buy the original one in Indonesia. Not start reading yet...

The last but not least book in the picture is 'Syahadah Gadis Atheis' by Imran Haaz. I read half of book since i bought during KLIBF 2010, but i cannot finish it early because it is a book that you have to digest and understand the contain, and not to enjoy the literature of writing.

Actually i have to balance the reading of academic and non-fiction books. This is to avoid the boring mode during reading any books. You yourself should be creative to create the enjoyment feeling in your reading. You can put the imagination as you wanted when you spend your time with books, and I myself do that to spend a worth time with my unspoken best friends.. ^__^

There are a lot of book to be read. There are a lot of information that can be grabbed in books. There are no reason to be uneducated. Enjoy your reading, Enjoy your life!

**I still have around 10 books that i bought and not be read yet.. hehe...

I arranged my time to participate the Da'wah programme at Kampung Orang Asli at least once in a month, and the first week of short semester seems unbusy, so i went to this village with 8 students from IIUM, 4 students from MSU, 1 from KLMU, 1 from IIC, Encik Saymsul from IOA, and 2 Pakcik and 3 sons.

Actually, there was supposedly conducting a big programme for this week organized by MSU, but they postponed it to next two weeks due to some circumstances. Then, they took an initiative to conduct a normal programme for villagers as regularly conducted by IOA. We spent 2 days 2 nights at Pos Bersih and everything was under control.

Some information that should be noted here is the Christian missionary was regularly enter this village to spread their da'yah especially to the children. They have their own house to teach Christian teaching about God and life. I asked by myself to the children of this village and they were the one who told wbout all of these info and i'm sure that they will never cheat because they still have pure heart. Indirectly, i taught them about the real God. I want they know that Allah is the only God to be worshipped. I want they say the name of Allah for many times. And i do really hope that one day they will receive the Hidayah from Allah.. Aminn..
